Tom and Ellie Osborn were both born in Belle Plaine, Iowa and moved to Marion in December 1968, when their oldest daughter, Teri, was 1 year old. Their second daughter, Nicole, was born in March, 1976.
Tom and Ellie decided to take a big risk, and on January 8, 1986, they opened the Marion Maid-Rite. Teri lives in Marion with her husband Steve, daughter Chelsea and son, Payton. Chelsea turned 15 last summer and is now the third generation to work at the restaurant. Teri is a Co-Owner and General Manager and oversees the normal day-to-day operations…giving it the true meaning of a family owned operated business. Nicole also lives in Marion with her husband Justin and son, Seven Thomas. She is a Co-Owner and works full-time as Manager.

We enjoy strong local support as well as customers from every state and over 40 foreign countries. It has become a place travelers feel they can “come home to.” It’s More Than a Restaurant… It’s a Tradition! This is largely due to what the Maid-Rite is known for… Friendly Service, Great Homemade Food, Reasonable Prices, and the Best Maid-Rites in Years!
